Suzata is a village situated near Bodhgaya in Indian Bihar, halfway between Varanasi (Bénarès) and Kolkata ( Calcutta).

By going into the village, we quickly see persons sat on the ground occupied with shaping sticks of incense on trays of wood. It is the main activity allowing to earn some money for the families, which stay in an alarming situation of poverty.

SUZATA operation

BePangea launches the SUZATA operation with the cooperation of the Swiss and Indian NGO "Ecoles de la Terre" to organize a fair trade based on this production of incense to guarantee to the families some better income, to avoid the child labor and to promote this activity which depends still exclusively on punctual orders executed in subcontracting.

BePangea Productions is working on two lines of products:

  • a line 100% natural made with superior-quality components,
  • and a line low-cost in which essential oil of synthesis can be used in a limited way.
